Captain Steven Sabo - Be a Better Paintball

Captain Steven Sabo is a retired police officer who loves to spend a day out on the field playing paintball with friends and family. He has even been looking for ways to improve his performance and become more competitive. One way to do just that is to simply become more familiar with whatever equipment that you are using. A good paintball player will consistently use the same weapon because they are used to its weight and know what it is capable of. That is why if you want to improve your overall skills as a paintball player, you need to be consistent with your equipment so that you can develop a better familiarity with it.

Another great way to improve your overall paintball skills is to learn the proper shooting form and technique. Even the most expensive paintball guns can have a poor firing rate, which is why this technique will help you get the most firepower out of your equipment. First you want to position your thumb straight out and fold in your pinkie and ring finger, then place your middle and index finger on the trigger. Then you simply alternate pulling the trigger with your middle and index finger, trying to do this as quickly as possible. This is known in paintball as walking the trigger. By developing this simple skill you can fire faster than your opponent, giving you a huge edge on the field.

Captain Steven Sabo - Be a Better Policeman - Plan Ahead

Captain Steven Sabo did not get to retire uninjured after several years of service as a police officer out of sheer luck. His success on the street was the result of proper planning and preparation, as well as good training and experience. A good policeman is someone who is always thinking about the next step, who has a good plan. As the old adage says, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail,” something that is especially true for police officers. That is why if a policeman wants to become better at their job, they need to focus on coming up with a plan every time they go out on the street for a call.

Planning properly can mean the difference between success and failure for many people in life, but for a police officer, it can be the difference between life and death. That is why an officer should always focus on a few key things before going out on a call. The first thing an officer should focus on is the mission. They should ask themselves what is the goal? What is the officer hoping to accomplish by going out? Once this has been figured out, an officer needs to come up with a good strategy of execution in order to accomplish this goal. It is important that this execution method is practical and safe, but that it still accomplished the goal. Just a bit of preparation can save an officer from many problems that may have arisen otherwise.

Captain Steven Sabo worked for many years as a police officer, learning that planning was an essential part of the job.

The field can be a dangerous place for an officer, which is why decisive decision-making is a must. Being decisive can even save lives, which is why an officer can’t afford the luxury of a second guess. It can be difficult however to be decisive when there is an air of doubt or uncertainty, which is why it is also important to have a good knowledge base before making your decision. An officer has an important duty to police the streets with integrity, and to uphold justice. Often, there is a fine line between justice and oppression that many police officers must walk.

There is never one right answer for all situations, which is why an officer must be well-educated and informed so that when the time comes, they can make decisive and well-informed decisions that lead to a good outcome. Upholding justice can be hard, but the sacrifices that must be made are well worth it in the end.

Reel, Tackle, and Lures – What you need to Know

Fishing is an excellent outdoor sport that is popular with many people. If you are looking to spend some time outdoor relaxing and doing what most men like doing – fishing, then you need to get your fishing rod and go fishing. However, if you are a beginner, and have never fished you might want to use these tips before you go get a reel, tackle and lures.

Captain Steven Sabo

Choosing a Reel

There are various types of reels available. However, for beginners, a closed reel will be ideal. With a closed reel, you just tap a trigger to as you cast the line and tap it again to stop. It is a one direction reel and is not difficult to use. You can also use an open face spinner reel, this will have a lever that you need to flip to cast the line and flip it back as you reel the line in again. The open face spinner reel is dual directional reel and is for more advanced purpose fishing.

Time to Tackle the Tackle

If your fishing rod does not have a line, you will need to buy the line, a bobber, hooks, and sinkers. How you string your fishing rod is based on the type of fish you want to catch. Catfish are bottom feeders and are easier to catch at night. You will need to use a bobber that glows in the dark, just make sure you are using a heavy sinker to get your bait to the bottom.

Lures

If you do not want to buy live bait, then lures are your next best option. You can buy lures and keep them in your car for those impromptu fishing times. Buying lures does depend on the type and size of fish you plan to catch. If you can use live bait, you will be better off with catching fish.

Trap and Skeet Shooting Tips

Every shotgun shooter wants to be the best shooter, but sometimes that can be easier said than done. Making mistakes on the shooting range can lead to frustration, and it is something that can be avoided. Proper skill and regular practice will go a long way in making you a better trap and skeet shooter. Here are a couple of tips you can use to become a better trap and skeet shooter.

Safety First

When handling any firearm, it is crucial to make sure you take all the safety precautions into consideration. Always wear eye and hearing protection. Do not load your gun until you are all set to shoot. After shooting, ensure the gun is empty, and the action is open. You must keep the gun’s muzzle pointed down range and never placed on your shoulder pointed behind you.

Practice Makes Perfect

Practice makes perfect, so spend time practicing mounting and swinging an unloaded gun to your face in a mirror. Stand erect and lift the gun up with a concise movement, using both hands evenly as though they were connected together. Make sure to mount the gun from the precise same position every time, and bring it to the same position on your face every time. The gun should be mounted to the face and not your shoulder. Keep practicing these movements and you will find your movement becoming smooth and perfect.

Stand Right

When you are shooting, make sure you place your feet in a way that a line extends from your rear heel to your leading foot points. Your stance should be relatively narrow and not wide. With a narrow stance, you will have a smooth swing and follow through.

How to Become a Police Officer

A police officer or law enforcement officer’s most important duty is to protect people and property. They patrol areas that they have been assigned which includes responding to calls, making arrests, enforcing laws, testifying in court, and issuing citations. Some of their duties include, responding to domestic disturbance, providing first aid to people involved in automobile accidents, or injured in other domestic disputes. Much of their time on the job is involved in patrolling, filling out forms, and writing reports. More recently, police officers have been given the additional responsibilities of performing immigration duties.

Educational Qualification

Educational qualifications will vary from agency to agency, but every applicant should be a U.S. citizen, and at least 21 years old. Applicants should have no felony conviction, and will need to be financially responsible. Applicants will have to meet physical fitness, hearing, vision and medical requirements. They will have to pass through an interview, written exam, background check, drug test, and psychological evaluation.

Each agency has its own educational requirements for its applicants. Some agencies require a high school diploma, while others require a college degree. Several law enforcement agencies encourage their officers to take law enforcement-related college courses while in college and throughout their careers. Candidates with an associate degree in criminal justice will have an advantage because the course they studied is connected to the justice system.

Most law enforcement agencies require candidates to go through a training program at the academy. However, smaller agencies might need applicants to complete a basic training program at a local college, university or at the agency’s academy. Captain Steven Sabo has been a law enforcement officer for over thirty years.
